Under the Mantle, Written and performed by Meggie Mapes and Mike Selck, Directed
by Benny LeMaster
We wake up. We eat.
We love. We try to focus. We smile for pictures. We filter. We’re bored. We
fail. We rinse and repeat. Under the
Mantle fuses feminism and disability to map the relationship between two
performers who share love, lust, and loss. Tired of being told to smile, to
focus, to hope for best, this show fuses identities, experiences, and
scholarship to ask, given the constraints of women and the disabled body, why
get out of bed?
Astigmatheism, Compiled, written and performed by Angela Glunz, as
co-director with Stephenie DeArcangelis.
Let’s
talk about religion. Awkward, right? What if we approach the topic
with humor instead of scorn? After all, religion is a fundamental (pun
intended) aspect of our lives, both locally and globally. Utilizing a critical
feminist standpoint, this show follows my personal departure from religion and
joins the chorus of other women who have left their faiths and faced consequences.
Students $5 with student ID, General Admission $7. Cash only. Reservations recommended: 618/453-5618
